Yvonne Fang (b. Shanghai, China) is an artist and creative technologist currently based in San Francisco. She addresses topics around climate change, nature, technology, and human society. She makes AI simulations, virtual worlds, games, and interactive extended reality experiences to explore latent space aesthetics and bridge human and nonhuman perspectives, unsettling human-centered ways of thinking in a time of climate crisis. She develops and teaches multimodal AI/ML-infused worldbuilding pipelines and co-creative tools to explore new possibilities of human-AI creative collaboration. She holds a Master’s degree in human-computer interaction from Carnegie Mellon University, and a BA from Bowdoin College where she studied international relations, computer science, and visual art. Her work has been shown and featured at institutions including Gray Area Foundation for the Arts and Asian Art Museum.
